Pursuing an Education for a Career in Fisheries Science

Georgia has a number of colleges and technical schools that offer opportunities for students to pursue an education that will help them earn a job related to fisheries science.  Some schools, like the University of Georgia offer a specific degree in Fisheries, while other schools offer a more general major in Biology that can be tailored to gain the education and skills needed for a fisheries career.  In either case, by working with faculty members, students can get important outside-the-classroom research experiences in the field of fisheries.  Georgia also has several technical colleges which offer programs for students to earn a degree which qualifies them for a job as a fisheries technician.  The map below shows the general locations of these schools within the state.  Click on the links below to learn more about these programs and the fisheries-oriented faculty members who work there.
