Everyone is invited to join us in the Brown Center auditorium at 7pm to help us celebrate excellence in fisheries.

The Georgia Chapter of the American Fisheries Society values its members and all those who work to improve the conservation and sustainability of our fishery resources and aquatic ecosystems. Randy Pausch once said, “showing gratitude is one of the simplest, yet most powerful thing humans can do for each other.”  One way our Chapter shows its gratitude is by recognizing outstanding individuals or organizations for their achievements and excellence in support of the Chapter’s mission and objectives.

You can learn more about each of our Chapter awards and how we select our award recipients on our Awards Nomination Guidelines page.

During our Awards Ceremony, we will first recognize our student award winners and then recognize our recipients for the Career Contributions Award, Distinguished Service Award, Unsung Hero Award, Certificate of Appreciation, Chapter President’s Award, and our Fisheries Conservationist of the Year. Additionally, we will recognize each of our finalists for Professional of the Year in Fisheries Management and Professional of the Year in Science and Research.
